How does our in home euthanasia process work?
1. When our doctor arrives
The doctor will get to know you and your pet, perform a short assessment of your pet's health, and answer any questions you may have surrounding in home euthanasia. The process can take place indoors or outdoors, wherever your pet is most comfortable.
2. When you are ready & your pet is resting peacefully
The doctor will administer an appropriate level of sedation to let them sleep and ease their pain or discomfort.
After your pet is resting peacefully, a simple injectable euthanasia solution will be given and your pet will gently drift into their peaceful transition.
3. After your pet has peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge
You and your family will be given privacy to say your final goodbyes - this is not rushed, and you can take as much time as you need. When you are ready, the doctor will come in and speak with you about the aftercare of your pet.
4. If we are handling the aftercare
After you have said your goodbyes, if we are handling the aftercare, the doctor will come in with either a blanket or stretcher to place your pet in their vehicle to transport them to the crematorium. They will go through the process with you and provide you with information on how and when your pet's ashes will be ready to come home.

Our Veterinarians
Janet Juliano, DVM
Dr. Janet Juliano was born and raised in Long Island, NY. Having only dogs as siblings, she developed a strong natural bond with them. As she grew older, she started caring for pocket pets at home, taking in and caring for strays and begging her father to take her to work with him at the animal shelter. She realized her love for all animals and knew at a young age she was destined to become a vet. She started riding horses at the age of 9 and got her first job tacking horses and assisted teaching young beginner classes at 13. As soon as she was old enough, she worked at the animal shelter where she brought home her first bottle baby kitten (and also first foster fail), introducing cats into the family. She then volunteered cleaning cages at an animal hospital just to get exposure and a foot in the door into the world of veterinary medicine. She quickly fell in love with the field and was hired as a veterinary assistant until heading off to college to begin her journey to becoming a veterinarian.
Dr. Janet attended undergrad at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville graduating with a BS in animal science in 1999. During her time there, she continued work at the University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She also continued horseback riding, competing on the school's equestrian team and received a scholarship from the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. Following college, she spent 3 years in Grenada at St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine followed by 1 clinical year at The University of Florida, Gainesville and graduated with a DVM in 2003.
Following graduation, Dr. Janet returned to Long Island and spent the next 20 years practicing small animal medicine and surgery and remained involved with rescue groups. She volunteers doing spays and neuters on feral cats through Last Hope Animal Rescue's TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) program. She also continues to take in orphaned kittens and wildlife, bottle feeding and caring for them until they are ready to be re-released or adopted. Although she loves the medicine, Dr. Janet's true passion has always been the human-animal bond. She is excited to join the Home With Dignity family where she can help preserve that bond to the very end by providing pets with a peaceful passing in the comfort of their own home and providing comfort and compassion to their families through such a difficult and emotional time. Providing a service where the whole family, including other pets can say goodbye without the added stresses of traveling to the clinic, distractions of a clinic setting and feeling rushed through the process, can allow families to just focus on their beloved pet and the good memories they will cherish forever. This, she believes, will greatly help with the grieving process and reduce feelings of guilt.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband Joe and their "fur babies" (although a few have been hairless), watching horror movies, traveling and crafting. She enjoys a variety of crafts, but recently has been focusing on resin memorial pieces, with and without cremation ashes.
