How does our in home euthanasia process work?

1. When our doctor arrives

The doctor will get to know you and your pet, perform a short assessment of your pet's health, and answer any questions you may have surrounding in home euthanasia. The process can take place indoors or outdoors, wherever your pet is most comfortable.

2. When you are ready & your pet is resting peacefully

The doctor will administer an appropriate level of sedation to let them sleep and ease their pain or discomfort.

After your pet is resting peacefully, a simple injectable euthanasia solution will be given and your pet will gently drift into their peaceful transition.

3. After your pet has peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge

You and your family will be given privacy to say your final goodbyes - this is not rushed, and you can take as much time as you need. When you are ready, the doctor will come in and speak with you about the aftercare of your pet.

4. If we are handling the aftercare

After you have said your goodbyes, if we are handling the aftercare, the doctor will come in with either a blanket or stretcher to place your pet in their vehicle to transport them to the crematorium. They will go through the process with you and provide you with information on how and when your pet's ashes will be ready to come home.

Our Veterinarians

Jessica Brozda, VMD

Dr. Jessica Brozda wanted to become a veterinarian from a young age, growing up and spending time caring for animals on her family’s farm in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Dr. Brozda continued this passion before earning her BS in Animal Sciences at Washington State University and in 2011, graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in veterinary medicine. After graduation, Dr. Brozda served on active duty in the US Army Veterinary Corps through 2014, caring for our nation’s Military Working Dogs. From 2014 on, she worked in small animal medicine, both as a general practice and emergency medicine veterinarian in South Dakota and then in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Dr. Brozda has also continued her service in the military and is a Major in the Army Reserves. Her favorite aspect of clinical practice was client education and preventative medicine, but over the years, Dr. Brozda has found mobile practice for in home euthanasia to be the most rewarding. She feels fulfilled being able to provide compassionate, mobile end of life care to the greater Philadelphia region and hopes to make such a difficult decision and experience a little easier …more peaceful and relaxed.

“I feel honored and blessed to be invited into a client’s home and be able to help them through such a difficult time in their lives, providing a level of comfort, privacy and closure to allow for a healthy grieving process. Our pets unconditionally love and devote their lives to us, and I want to be able to dignify their love and loyalty with a peaceful, less stressful end to life, surrounded by loving family in a familiar environment.”

Dr. Brozda now lives back in her hometown in Bucks County and feels that family and relationships are the most important part of life. In her free time, Dr. Brozda loves spending time outdoors with her husband, four children and four dogs. She loves to be active and go hiking, to garden and to make the most of each moment with her two- and four-legged family.

We are honored to have Dr. Brozda as a part of our Home with Dignity team and as a part of our greater Philadelphia mobile euthanasia practice, providing in home pet euthanasia to Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, Delaware and Chester counties. She is prepared to help you and your family during this difficult time and guide you through the euthanasia process.
